Rest-of-Season Projections
Signed a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the 49ers in March of 2026.
Placed on injured reserve
The 49ers placed Hobbs (groin) on injured reserve Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Hobbs injured his groin during a joint practice with the Titans in mid-August, and it was reported at the time by Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area that the 2021 fifth-rounder would miss a few weeks. Hobbs will be required to miss at least four games unless he works out an injury settlement with the team. If it's the former, the earliest he can make his 2026 regular-season debut is Week 5 against the Seahawks on Sunday, Oct. 11. With Hobbs sidelined, Siran Neal and Jack Jones will serve as the 49ers' depth options at cornerback behind Renardo Green (hamstring) and Deommodore Lenoir.

After spending the first four seasons of his career with the Raiders, Hobbs signed a multi-year pact with the Packers this offseason. Injuries cost Hobbs nearly a full season of games over the last three years, but if he stays healthy, his contract dictates that he'll see regular action in Green Bay's secondary.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Solid chance of being traded
Dan Graziano and Ben Solak of ESPN.com suggest Hobbs has a solid chance of being traded this offseason.
ANALYSIS
The 2021 fifth-round pick of the Raiders signed with the Packers as a free agent last offseason, but he recorded a career-low 27 tackles across 11 regular-season games in an injury-shortened campaign. Graziano points out Hobbs' ideal fit is as a slot cornerback, a position Green Bay is already well-stocked in. Considering Hobbs had interest from several teams last offseason and has no guaranteed money on the three remaining years of his contract, a trade could be in the mutual interest of both parties.
