2026 Fantasy Outlook
Rivers' fourth year with the Rams in 2025 brought a new role, as he split kickoff return duties with Jordan Whittington and twice topped 100 yards in a game despite suiting up for only 11 regular-season contests. Rivers doesn't have much in the way of physical tools, running a 4.6 40-yard time at his combine at sub-200 pounds, but he's shown a three-down skill set and has made the most of his limited chances. The undrafted Fresno State product seems to have earned Sean McVay's trust, and while he has no real path to meaningful snaps on offense behind Kyren Williams and Blake Corum, Rivers has proven to be a useful 'break glass in case of emergency' option in the backfield. The Rams placed Rivers (calf) on their injured reserve list Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Per Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site, coach Sean McVay said Wednesday that Rivers' calf injury is expected to keep him sidelined for 4-to-6 weeks. McVay also said the team plans to elevate either undrafted rookie Dean Connors or Jordan Waters from its practice squad for Sunday's game at Denver.

Despite starting the season as the primary backup to Kyren Williams, Rivers found himself pushed back to third on the depth chart behind Blake Corum by the Rams' Week 6 bye. Most of the former UDFA's 99 rushing yards on the season came in a meaningless Week 18 game, and with fourth-round draft pick Jarquez Hunter joining the running back room, Rivers likely will be relegated to special teams barring multiple injuries ahead of him.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Chance at expanded Week 18 role
Rivers could play a larger role in Week 18 against the Cardinals, as Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register reports that Blake Corum missed Thursday's practice and Kyren Williams was limited due to their respective ankle injuries.
ANALYSIS
Corum didn't return after hurting his ankle during the Week 17 loss to Atlanta, and the Rams are likely to scale back Williams' workload in the regular-season finale to ensure their lead back is available for the postseason. More opportunities could be available for Rivers and Jarquez Hunter against the weak Cardinals run defense in a Rams backfield usually dominated by Williams and Corum. Rivers was on the field for three snaps against the Falcons, while Hunter was a healthy scratch.
