Rest-of-Season Projections
Signed a contract with the Browns in September of 2026.
Linking up with Cleveland
The Browns are set to sign Williams to their active roster, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Williams re-signed with the Cowboys in early March but was waived Sunday. He compiled 9.5 regular-season sacks over his first two years in the league but missed all of 2024 due to a knee injury and recorded just 1.0 sacks despite logging a career-high 469 defensive snaps last year. Williams will look to get back on track in what is likely to be a rotational role with the Browns this season.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
A second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Williams could prove to be a steal. The Ole Miss product collected four sacks in only 264 snaps as a rookie and was able to stand out as a consistent threat to get to the quarterback. He'll need to improve against the run if he wants to challenge DeMarcus Lawrence for a starting spot, but Williams is on track to emerge as a key part of the Cowboys' Micah Parsons-led pass rush this season.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Trade may be beneficial
Williams is a player who could see his career fully take off via a trade away from the Cowboys, Aaron Schatz of ESPN.com opines.
ANALYSIS
Williams showed some solid promise over his first two seasons after being selected out of Ole Miss in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, recording 8.5 total sacks as a rotational player. However, a torn ACL wiped out his 2024 campaign, and Williams then started just five games in 2025 while recording 1.0 sacks among his 37 total tackles. Schatz points out that with Williams playing less than half the defensive snaps the majority of last season, he's likely best served by a career reset in a different locale.
