Conner was selected during the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Jaguars and appeared in just eight games during his rookie campaign. In the process, he had 12 carries for 41 yards and a touchdown while playing only 36 offensive snaps. JaMycal Hasty operated as Travis Etienne's backup at the close of last season, leaving Conner to work in mop-up duty. However, Reid notes Conner is an inside power runner in the mold of Robinson, which could afford him some opportunities in formations with the speedy and elusive Etienne, who appears to be all the way back from the Lisfranc injury that wiped out his 2021 campaign.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
Conner was part of a deep backfield committee at Ole Miss and finished his final collegiate season with 130 carries for 647 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also caught 14 passes for 82 yards, which is solid given that he primarily worked as a short-yardage back. He was selected in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by Jacksonville and will compete with Ryquell Armstead for a depth role in the backfield. Travis Etienne and James Robinson are entrenched as the team's top tailbacks, though it's unclear if Robinson will be at full strength before Week 1, which could provide some opportunities for Conner early on.
