Qatar Masters

Location: Doha, Qatar
Course: Education City Golf Club
Yardage: 7,307
Par: 71

Tournament Preview

The Qatar Masters moves to Education City Golf Club this year for the first time. The exposed course is undulating with large bunkers and water in play on most holes.  Wind will be a factor this week, as it is the course's main defense. This week, current form will weigh heavier in making picks since there's no course history to pull from.  In addition, ball-strikers and good wind players will also be focused on.

Key Stats to Winning at Education City

DraftKings Picks

Martin Kaymer - $10,600 (14/1)

The betting favorite is where I am going to start.  Kaymer has begun this year with four top-20s. He was T10 last week in Oman, another test in the wind.  He is seventh this season in SG: tee to green and 14th in par-4 scoring. He has said to be concentrating on his short game this year.  A good week of putting will put him at the top come Sunday.

Gavin Green - $9,200 (28/1)

Green shot 67 on Sunday to finish T18 at Oman Open.  He has finished no worse than T27 this season.  His highest finish was T3 at Saudi International. Green has been solid with all clubs in his bag.  Another golfer with great consistency is Thomas Detry. He is worth consideration and is priced $100 less if salary relief is needed.

Eddie Pepperell - $8,300 (40/1)

Pepperell finished T11 last time out at Omega Dubai Desert Classic.  He won this tournament in 2018 at Doha Golf Club. He is a superb scrambler and is priced too low in this field. He is a great value to take advantage of. Also, if looking to build a more "balanced" team, Guido Migliozzi at only $8,000 is intriguing.  He had three missed cuts to start the season but came roaring back last week in Oman with a T3. He is a golfer who can go low when he is dialed in.

Grant Forrest - $7,300 (80/1)

There is a win coming soon for the young Scotsman.  Forrest has begun the 2020 season with six made cuts in a row.  He was T10 last week at Oman Open. Both of his weekend rounds were in the 60s.  He will be able to handle the wind this week. He is a solid putter and is ranked 33rd in birdies on tour.  Richard McEvoy is a possibility if needing to pick a golfer from the very bottom of the pricing. At only $6,400 he is an experienced golfer that has shown some form the last two times out.  He was T21 at Saudi International and T30 at Oman Open.
