Tournament Preview
The European Tour is in Sweden this week for Scandinavian Invitational. Host of the event for the second time, Hills Golf & Sports Club is an undulating, tree-lined course set adjacent to a nature preserve. It contains many bunkers and has water hazards on the majority of holes. Accuracy off the tee and accuracy with approach shots are paramount. A Swede has won this event seven times, so locals are definitely in play, but the field is loaded. We will target ball strikers in good form.

Matthew Fitzpatrick - $11,300 (8/1)
The two top Swedes appear to be great choices. Henrik Stenson has been in good form all summer — his approach game has been outstanding — and Alex Noren made a return to form the last couple months. But my favorite at the top is Fitzpatrick. He has the perfect game for this course and has been knocking on the door all season. He's had two solo second finishes this season and a T4 last time out at WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.
Edoardo Molinari - $8,100 (50/1)
It is the other Molinari brother who is heating up. Edoardo Molinari has posted high finishes since June. It seems that a win is coming soon. He finished T14 last week at the Czech Masters, but also finished T9 at the Irish Open and T3 at the BMW Invitational Open. He is 31st on tour in driving accuracy and 71st in greens in regulation. Molinari finished T68 at Hills Golf & Sports Club last year during a stretch of not particularly good form.
Marcus Kinhult - $7,800 (50/1)
Kinhult got his first career win on the European Tour this year at the British Masters. He should arrive with great confidence to play in his home event. He is one of the more accurate drivers on tour. He hasn't competed since the Scottish Open but should be ready to put on a show for the home crowd.
Jack Singh Brar - $7,000 (125/1)
Singh Brar has my attention at the bottom-price tier. The young Englishman has put together a good string of tournaments since mid-June. His highest finish coming last week at Czech Masters with a T14. He is extremely accurate off the tee, ranking 26th on tour in driving accuracy. Singh Brar has delivered with his irons as well. He is 23rd in greens in regulation. He seems poised to make a splash this week.
