To undergo back surgery
Back
October 18, 2018
Bowditch will undergo fusion surgery on his back in the near future, Kevin Casey of Golfweek reports.
ANALYSIS
Bowditch has been dealing with lower-back pain, leg numbness and a loss of control in the right side of his body over the course of the last couple years. He is expected to miss a majority of the 2019 season while recovering from this procedure. A notable recent example of a golfer that underwent a similar surgery was Tiger Woods, and he was sidelined six months before returning to golf activities.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2016
2015
2014
Bowditch has fallen so far, so fast is hard to comprehend. He shot a boatload of rounds in the 80s last season, albeit handling the embarrassing moments with grace. That gets him good-guy points, but not FedEx points. He can't do so poorly again, can he?
Thanks to a win at the Valero Texas Open, Bowditch posted a career-high in earnings in 2014. Not only was it a career-high, but it was also the first time he has cracked the $1 million mark. While it's possible that Bowditch could build off his win last year, the odds are he'll come back down to earth this season. As such, he's not a guy you want to pay much attention to in salary cap leagues. In draft leagues he'll likely fall well below where he ended up on the money list last season; perhaps somewhere around the 9th or 10th round.
In his three seasons on the PGA Tour, Bodwitch has earned roughly $1.5 million. 2013 was actually his best year and while he's still young, just 29 years of age, his upside appears to be limited. There are players with more value in this range, so it's best to pass on Bodwitch in salary cap leagues. Depending on the league, he could go undrafted as well.
