Share of second at LIV Golf Chicago
August 10, 2025
Ballester tied with Jon Rahm for second at LIV Golf Chicago after being defeated by Dean Burmester on the first playoff hole.
ANALYSIS
Ballester surged to the top of the leaderboard with a five-under 66 second round that had him two strokes back of Burmester heading into Championship Sunday. Ballester was one-over through the front nine of the final round, but he caught fire to go three-under on the back, with his birdie on the par-4 18th forcing a three-way playoff. He was unable to force a second playoff hole after his birdie putt missed right, but it was a spectacular performance from the 21-year-old Spaniard, who has finished T23-T7-T2 over his last three LIV Golf outings. Ballester will have plenty of momentum heading into LIV Golf Indianapolis next weekend, the final tournament of the league's regular season.
