Harrington nearly reached the $1M mark in official earnings during his first season on the PGA Tour in 2019-20, but he finished just 172nd in the FedExCup standings the following year and he was consequently relegated back down to the Korn Ferry Tour. Throughout his 2022 campaign on the KFT, Harrington ranked seventh in ball striking despite making only eight cuts in 21 starts. Nonetheless, he earned his PGA Tour card for the 2022-23 season with a T4 finish at the Albertsons Boise Open during the first leg of the KFT Finals.
A rookie at age 39, Harrington played only four PGA Tour events before last season. He played 22 in 2019-20, making half the cuts. About two-thirds of his cash and points came from one event - runner-up at the Houston Open. We can't count on that happening again.
Despite closing in on his 40s, Harrington could be an intriguing prospect when considering short-term deep sleepers among the 2019-20 rookie class. En route to finishing 19th on the Regular Season Points List, he ranked fourth in ball striking, fifth in all-around, fourth in birdie average and sixth in total driving. Harrington is also heating up just in time for the wraparound fall series, placing T3-MC-T28-T11-2-T14 from the TPC Colorado Championship to the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship.
