2025 Fantasy Outlook
Granlund was effective in San Jose and Dallas over the past two campaigns, which led to him reaching the 60-point mark with the Sharks in 2023-24, followed by 22 goals and 66 points in 83 regular-season appearances between the Sharks and Stars in 2024-25. That success should carry over into Anaheim after inking a three-year deal over the summer. Although the Ducks have emerging center depth thanks to the rise of Leo Carlsson and Mason McTavish, the 33-year-old Granlund is expected to play in the top six. A mild regression is possible if he ends up on the second power-play unit instead of the first -- 42 of his 126 regular-season points over the past two years were recorded with the man advantage -- but it’s reasonable to pencil him in for at least 50 points. Suffers lower-body injury
Granlund won't return to Saturday's clash against Tampa Bay because of a lower-body injury.
ANALYSIS
Granlund had three shots on 6:07 of ice time before exiting the game. He was fantastic Thursday, recording two goals and three assists in a 7-5 win over Boston, which brought him up to two goals and eight points through seven appearances going into Saturday's action. If Granlund can't play Tuesday in Florida, then Jansen Harkins might draw into the lineup.

Granlund was a big fish in a small pond last year, scoring 12 goals and 60 points in 69 contests with the Sharks. He was the only San Jose player to even reach the 50-point milestone in what was a miserable season for the franchise. On the plus side, Logan Couture, who logged just six games in 2023-24, should be healthy for the upcoming campaign, and Macklin Celebrini, who was taken with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft, should further bolster the offense. San Jose also penned free agent Tyler Toffoli and will be looking for more out of youngsters William Eklund and Thomas Bordeleau, so perhaps the offense won't be quite so bad in 2024-25. All those additions might eat into Granlund's playing time somewhat, but at least it should also lead to an increase in the quality of his linemates when he is on the ice. Expecting 50-60 points out of Granlund is reasonable.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Bound for free agency
Granlund will test the open market after failing to come to terms with Dallas on a new deal, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Granlund becomes a cap casualty for the Stars, who have several big-dollar players, including Mikko Rantanen, Miro Heiskanen and Tyler Seguin. After making the move to Dallas via trade last year, the 33-year-old Finn notched seven goals, 14 assists and 43 shots in 31 regular-season appearances. With back-to-back 60-point campaigns on his resume, Granlund should garner plenty of interest on the open market.
