2025 Fantasy Outlook
After bouncing around and playing for four teams since the decade began, it seems like Dubois has finally found a home with the Capitals. The 26-year-old registered a career-high 66 points, playing in all 82 games in the regular season for the second straight year. The Capitals were the leaders of the Eastern Conference in part because many guys like Dubois outperformed preseason expectations. Now the question becomes whether or not the versatile center can produce like this in consecutive seasons after getting back over the 20-goal threshold this year. Dubois will likely have to do so again from a middle-six and second power-play unit role, considering how well Dylan Strome performed as Alex Ovechkin's center, which might limit the potential for more production out of Dubois heading into the 2025-26 campaign. Sustains lower-body injury
Dubois (lower body) won't return to Friday's game versus the Islanders.
ANALYSIS
Dubois suffered an injury when his leg twisted awkwardly after a faceoff late in the first period. The 27-year-old's status beyond Friday has yet to be announced, but this could be a significant injury. If Dubois is out Saturday versus the Sabres, the Capitals would need to make a move unless Dylan Strome (lower body) is able to return to action.

Usually, a 40-point campaign wouldn't be considered a bad year but Dubois was coming off back-to-back 60-point seasons when he was acquired by the Kings last season. The club decided to offload the underperforming center to bolster their goaltending options, acquiring Darcy Kuemper from Washington in the trade for Dubois. The Capitals will be hoping they bought relatively low, trading from a position of depth, in order to acquire a second-line center that can provide offensive upside. An expanded power-play role would certainly improve Dubois's chances of being a 60-point guy, though he is far from a lock to link up with the No. 1 unit.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could play Friday
Dubois, who has missed the last four games with a lower-body injury, could return to the lineup in Columbus on Friday, according to Sammi Silber of The Hockey News.
ANALYSIS
Dubois took a big step forward Thursday, as he practiced while wearing a regular uniform after going a week with a non-contact jersey. Dubois is likely to return to his role as a top-two center upon his return, while Justin Sourdif would presumably move down Washington's depth chart.
