2025 Fantasy Outlook
Cooley has spent almost his entire professional career in the minors, save for six games with San Jose in 2023-24, in which he posted a 4.98 GAA and an .870 save percentage. The Sharks were a rebuilding team, and two of those six appearances were good -- he even made 49 saves en route to a 3-1 win over Seattle on April 11, 2024 -- but given that's all the NHL action the 28-year-old has on his resume, it's hard to be too optimistic about his prospects. Although he will get a look during training camp, his best-case scenario is beating Ivan Prosvetov for the No. 2 gig behind Dustin Wolf. Prosvetov had a strong 2024-25 in the KHL, so the odds aren't in Cooley's favor, but if he does secure the understudy role, then perhaps he'll make 20-30 starts this year. Read Past Outlooks
Gets no help in loss
Cooley allowed one goal on 18 shots in Sunday's 2-0 loss to the Wild.
ANALYSIS
Cooley made his fifth appearance (third start) of the season, but he once again didn't get enough support from the Flames' offense. They've scored just four goals over his three starts this season. Cooley is 0-2-1 with a 1.75 GAA and a .935 save percentage in 2025-26, but he won't offer much of a challenge to Dustin Wolf's status as the Flames' starter. Despite the good numbers, Cooley is not a strong fantasy option, as he is unlikely to rack up many wins behind a weak offense.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Might make first start Wednesday
Cooley could make his season debut in Wednesday's road game against Utah, according to Derek Wills of Sportsnet 960 The Fan.
ANALYSIS
If Dustin Wolf makes his fourth straight start in Tuesday's home game versus Vegas, Cooley could get the second half of Calgary's back-to-back. The 28-year-old Cooley posted a 2-3-1 record with a 4.98 GAA and an .870 save percentage across six regular-season outings with the Sharks in 2023-24 and didn't see any NHL action during the 2024-25 campaign. He went 21-17-5 with a 2.94 GAA and a .905 save percentage last year with AHL Calgary.
