At 7 p.m. ET, the Calgary Flames and Philadelphia Flyers do battle on NHL Network, and that's one of the two games we'll focus on. NHL Sunday Night: Top Betting Picks and Parlay Insights

Calgary Flames at Philadelphia Flyers

The Flames (2-9-2) and the Flyers (6-4-1) tangle on NHL Network, and both teams are playing on no rest, so that will be an interesting development.

Calgary suffered a 4-2 loss in Nashville on Saturday afternoon, and starting goaltender Dustin Wolf just didn't have it. He allowed three goals on 11 shots in the first period before getting the hook in favor of Devin Cooley. The latter stopped all 12 of the shots he faced, but it was too little and too late.

Jonathan Huberdeau scored his second goal of the season early in the third period, with helpers to Jake Bean and Matt Coronato, slicing the lead to 3-1, and Joel Farabee notched his second of the season, with an apple to Nazem Kadri, and the Flames looked to be in good shape. But, an empty-net goal thwarted the comeback efforts in the 4-2 loss.

The Flyers were on the short end of a 5-2 loss to the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs. Former Flames tendy Dan Vladar had a rough start, allowing four goals on 19 shots in 40:33 before getting the early shower. Aleksei Kolosov mopped up, stopping the final seven shots.

With both teams having their starting tendy pulled, and each side playing with no rest, we could have plenty of goals on Sunday night in the City of Brotherly Love. And, in terms of overall record, we'll back the Flyers to get the job done, since the price isn't outrageous.

  • Flyers ML (-135 at Bet365, Caesars and DraftKings Sportsbooks)
  • Over 5.5 Goals (-125 at Bet365 and Caesars Sportsbooks)

New Jersey Devils at Anaheim Ducks

The Devils (9-3-0) and Ducks (6-3-1) square off at Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN+ in a rematch of the 2003 Stanley Cup Final.

The Devs are wrapping up a four-game Western Conference road trip. New Jersey was outscored 13-6 in the first two games on the trip in losses to the Colorado Avalanche and San Jose Sharks, but it rebounded with a 4-1 win as short 'dogs (+105) against the LA Kings on Saturday, as the Under (6) came in. Markstrom was celebrating a recent contract extension in style.

With no rest, the Devils are all but certain to turn to veteran backup Jake Allen (5-1-0, 2.39 GAA, .906 SV%). While the overall record is impressive, he coughed up five goals on 28 shots in San Jose in a 5-2 loss last time out on Thursday. He had allowed three goals or fewer in each of his first six starts.

The Ducks have won four of the past five games, including a 5-2 win Friday against the Detroit Red Wings. The Over is 4-1 in the past five games for Anaheim, too.

Let's go with the Over, and we'll side with the Ducks, who have won three of the past four meetings in this series, while going 3-1-0 in the past four meetings in Anaheim.

  • Ducks ML (+115 at Fanatics Sportsbook)
  • Over 6.5 Goals (-105 at Bet365 Sportsbook)

Detroit Red Wings at San Jose Sharks

The Red Wings (8-4-0) and Sharks (4-6-2) meet at SAP Center in San Jose at 8 p.m. ET.

Detroit was tripped up 5-2 on Friday against the Ducks, and now it looks to right the ship in the Bay Area. However, the Sharks aren't the pushover they used to be.

San Jose picked up a 3-2 win in overtime against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday behind Yaroslav Askarov, while Philipp Kurashev scored his second goal of the game with the overtime winner. Macklin Celebrini also scored his seventh goal of the season in regulation.

The Sharks swept the regular-season series against the Red Wings last season, winning both as an underdog. It is also 3-1 in the previous four installments. Four of the past seven in the series have ended up going to overtime, too.

Alex Nedeljkovic (2-2-1, 3.60 GAA, .887 SV%) gets the crack against his former team, spending two seasons with 25 wins in 65 starts and 74 appearances with the Wings from 2021-23.

Let's back the Sharks catching a goal and a half as underdogs on the puck line, and we'll go high on the total.

  • Sharks +1.5 Goals (+143 at Caesars Sportsbook)
  • Over 6.5 Goals (-115 at Bet365, BetMGM, Caesars, DraftKings and ESPN Bet Sportsbooks)
