Pavlovich recently underwent surgery and is out of his August 8 fight against Ciryl Gane, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Pavlovich was tentatively listed as a (+205) betting underdog for the matchup against the up-and-coming Gane, so a step back for the 28-year-old to get healthy will likely prove to be beneficial. It's unclear exactly what is afflicting him at this time, though the photo from his personal Instagram account appears to show the issue is with his left leg. Pavlovich is 2-1 under the UFC and 14-1 overall, with his only loss coming to respected veteran Alistair Overeem. He competed last in October of 2019, finishing Maurice Greene via TKO in the first round.

Set for Aug. 8 date against Gane

Pavlovich will take on Ciryl Gane in a heavyweight matchup at a yet-to-be-determined location on August 8, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Pavlovich dropped his UFC debut to a heavyweight mainstay in Alistair Overeem in 2018, but has since bounced back in a big way with back-to-back first round finishes of Marcelo Golm and Maurice Greene. He'll get another tough test next time out in Gane, an undefeated French prospect that is 3-0 under the UFC banner. Through three UFC bouts, Pavlovich has a slight edge in striking volume, but Gane has been the more successful grappler, picking up two submission wins. Gane will have a slight height advantage, while Pavlovich sports a reach three inches superior.

Pavlovich defeated Maurice Greene via TKO (Punches) at 2:11 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Singapore.
ANALYSIS
After a rocky start to his UFC career, Pavlovich has now picked up back-to-back first round finishes. He was all over Greene from the start of the fight. He finished with 20 significant strikes and a knockdown. The bout was finished less than three minutes into the first round. In his last two fights, Pavlovich has two finishes and two knockdowns with only 37 significant strikes. A few wins can go a long way in the heavyweight division. Pavlovich could find himself back in a ranked heavyweight fight in the very near future.

Pavlovich has been booked to take on Maurice Greene at UFC Singapore on October 26, Nolan King of MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After suffering the first professional loss of his career in his UFC debut, Pavlovich bounced back nicely in his second go with a victory over Marcelo Golm via TKO (punches) at UFC Saint Petersburg back in April. He will surely have his hands full come October, as Greene is a perfect 3-0 since signing with the promotion in late 2018.
Has a much better showing than his debut

Pavlovich defeated Marcelo Golm via TKO (punches) at 1:06 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Saint Petersburg.
ANALYSIS
In his UFC debut against Alistair Overeem, Pavlovich did not really get a chance to show anything. That was not the case here. He was able to come with forward with his strikes. He caught some counters early. Then he started to throw in combination, and it turned out to be a short night for Goim. With the victory in his second UFC fight, Pavlovich improves his professional record to 13-1, and he might end up making some noise in the shallow UFC heavyweight division.
Finds the Octagon inhospitable

Pavlovich lost to Alistair Overeem via TKO (punches) at 4:21 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night 141 on Saturday in Beijing, China.
ANALYSIS
There was a lot of hype about Pavlovich. He made his debut as an undefeated fighter, but he left the cage with a loss. He was not able to really to land anything on his feet. Overeem took him down towards the end of the round. From there, the fight belonged to the former Strikeforce champion. He unleashed a series of right hands that finished the fight. Pavlovich may have started his UFC career with a loss, but he could still make a home for himself in the UFC.
