Mario Bautista
No-shows UFC debut
January 19, 2019
Bautista lost to Cory Sandhagen via submission (armbar) at 3:31 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Brooklyn.
A last-minute replacement for an injured John Lineker, Bautista really struggled in his UFC debut. It was a massive step up in competition for the 25-year-old MMA Lab product and his inexperienced showed. Following a huge takedown, Bautista immediately put himself in harm's way against the talent Sandhagen and was unable to recover. Fighters that are willing to accept a late notice fight almost always get a second chance with the company regardless of the result the first time around. Bautista should resurface with the UFC.

Set for UFC debut
January 12, 2019
Bautista will make his UFC debut in a bantamweight bout against Cory Sandhagen at UFC Brooklyn on Jan. 19, reports.
Bautista will be a last-minute fill-in for John Lineker, who was forced to pull out Thursday due to a rib injury. Bautista is undefeated in six fights as a professional, with five of his victories coming in the first two rounds. His opponent, Sandhagen, isn't particularly experienced himself, with just two UFC matches under his bout. He won both in the second round via TKO.
