Taps out in UFC debut
StrawweightUFC
October 16, 2021
Nunes lost to Ariane Carnelossi via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:57 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Making her UFC debut as a slight (+115) underdog, Nunes fought reasonably well prior to the stoppage. She was the much more effective fighter on the feet, but her poor takedown defense was her ultimate undoing. Nunes allowed Carnelossi to land 5-of-7 takedown attempts, in addition to the rear-naked choke that ended the fight. The 29-year-old Brazilian won't be happy with the end result, but Nunes by no means embarrassed herself in her first showing with the company and we should see her back in the Octagon again in fairly short order.

August 12, 2019
Nunes was removed from her scheduled matchup against Angela Hill at UFC Mexico City due to a failed drug test, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Nunes was set to make her UFC debut after a successful run under the banner of ONE FC, but that notion will be put on hold for the time being. It is often difficult for younger fighters to dispute this types of suspensions, but more information will be released on the details of her case when provided.
