Martin will not re-sign with the UFC following the completion of her contract, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Martin got her opportunity via Dana White's Contender Series in August of 2019, but proceeded to go 1-3 in official UFC bouts. Her lone victory was a rear-naked choke over Hannah Cifers that saw her take home a post-fight bonus. The final fight of her tenure also brought fireworks, as her clash with Cheyanne Vlismas was awarded Fight of the Night honors. It's unclear what lies next for the 28-year-old.

Martin lost to Cheyanne Vlismas via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Vegas 44 on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Martin has been able to get her wrestling game going throughout most of her time in the UFC, but she was stuffed on all five takedown attempts Saturday, which was a big part of her downfall. While her 80 significant strikes recorded represented one of the better marks of her career, she still was behind in all three rounds and ended up eating 60 in the final frame. While her toughness kept her upright, and ultimately earned the two a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus, it was not enough for her to avoid the inevitable decision loss. Still, Martin did buy herself some good will here by being willing to accept a late-notice opponent change, as she was originally scheduled for a bout against Montserrat Ruiz.

Quickly taps at UFC 258

Martin lost to Polyana Viana via submission (armbar) at 3:18 of Round 1 at UFC 258 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Martin fought a pair of submissions long and hard before ultimately tapping out. Truth be told, the devastating situation she found herself in was much her own doing. Well aware of Viana's dominance on the mat, Martin caught a kick in the early going and forced her opponent to the ground. The fight never got back to the feet. Martin appeared to have a couple openings to create separation between the two women, but was unable to do so. Martin fights with an intriguing physicality, but lacks the technical skill to compete with better fighters. The 27-year-old Colorado native has alternated losses and wins in her first three UFC bouts.
Targeted for Feb. 13
StrawweightOther
October 15, 2020
Martin (knee) is being targeted for a strawweight matchup against Polyana Viana at the UFC event scheduled for Feb. 13, Mike Heck of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Martin picked up both a second-round submission win and a performance of the night bonus when she defeated Hannah Cifers in Vegas in late-August, but came away from that matchup with a potential knee injury. Nearly six months will have passed anyway by the time the date of this proposed matchup arrives, so it appears she's gained the necessary medical clearance. Martin will give up an inch in height and four inches in reach to Viana, who picked up her second UFC victory with a win over Emily Whitemire the same night as Martin's last fight. Viana also came away with multiple injuries, but it appears she's in the clear as well.
