Malcolm Gordon

Taps out in UFC debut
July 18, 2020
Gordon lost to Amir Albazi via submission (Triangle Choke) at 4:42 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
The loss snaps a four-fight winning streak for the debuting Gordon. Gordon is known for his ground game (six career submission wins), but he found himself on the wrong end of a triangle choke in this one. Gordon attempted to scramble his way back to the feet, but Albazi would have none of it, and the Canadian was forced to tap shortly after. Gordon had spent his entire pro career prior to Saturday on the regional circuit outside of one appearance for Bellator back in 2014.

Now facing Albazi on July 18
July 14, 2020
Gordon (12-3-0) is now scheduled to face Amir Albazi (12-1-0) in a flyweight fight at the UFC's event Saturday in Abu Dhabi after Albazi stepped in to replace Aleksander Doskalchuk (10-2-0), Marcel Dorff of reports.
Gordon himself had been added to the card as a replacement for Tagir Ulanbekov earlier this month, but he'll take on a new opponent on even shorter notice with Doskalchuk bowing out for an unspecified reason. The 30-year-old Gordon will take a four-fight winning streak into the Octagon.
