The UFC originally tried to contact a top prospect, but it appears they decided to just push the booking back from Nov. 20 to Feb. 5. It's still not apparent why Gordon had to withdraw from the original date in the first place.

Out of Bondar fight

Gordon withdrew from his Nov. 20 bout with Denys Bondar, reports.
It's unclear why Gordon was forced to withdraw from the bout. The UFC is actively seeking a replacement fighter for Bondar. Gordon was coming off his first win with the UFC back in July when he beat Francisco Figueiredo by unanimous decision.

Gordon will be taking on Denys Bondar in a flyweight bout at the UFC event Nov. 20, Aaron Bronsteter of reports.
Gordon is coming off a hand injury that he suffered during his first UFC victory back in July against Francisco Figueiredo. Prior to that Gordon had lost his first two bouts in the UFC.
Facing 180-day medical suspension

Gordon is facing a six-month medical suspension, reports.
Gordon will need clearance from a doctor for a right hand injury or he will be unable to fight until January 14. Even with the injury, Gordon was still able to pick up his first UFC victory against Francisco Figueiredo via unanimous decision last weekend.
Picks up first UFC victory
July 17, 2021
Gordon defeated Francisco Figueiredo via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC on ESPN 26 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
Gordon has always been long on talent and short on performance, so it was nice to see him finally pick up his first win with the company. After suffering back-to-back first-round stoppage defeats to began his UFC run, Gordon made a conscious effort to pick up the pace from the very start and it worked. He threw countless takedown attempts at the Brazilian, landing 2-of-11 tries for 6:01 worth of control time. Gordon also finished with a 100-52 edge in total strikes landed. It wasn't a visually pleasing experience, but it was a performance that undoubtedly will save Gordon's job.

Gordon is set to fight Francisco Figueiredo at the UFC event July 17, MMA Empire reports.
Gordon is reportedly replacing JP Buys in the matchup. This will be Gordon's first fight since loosing to Su Mudaerji via KO (punches) in Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 18 on Nov. 28, 2020. Figueiredo will be entering the ring previously defeating Jerome Rivera via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Island 8 on Jan. 20.
