Paired with Loma Lookboonmee
August 24, 2021
Buys will take on Loma Lookboonmee in a strawweight bout in Las Vegas on Nov. 20, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
Buys bounced back from a decision loss to Montserrat Ruiz in her UFC debut to defeat Gloria de Paula in a very quick match in July, earning a TKO victory after just one minute. She'll face a fighter in Lookboonmee who has slightly more UFC experience, winning three times and losing once under the promotion's banner, with all four results coming via decision.

Makes statement with quick KO
July 31, 2021
Buys defeated Gloria de Paula via TKO (strikes) at 1:00 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 28 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
The UFC seems intent on pushing Buys, and she responded in a major way in this one. Badly needing a win on the heels of a unanimous decision loss to Montserrat Ruiz in her company debut this past March, Buys nearly decapitated de Paula after kicking her in the face after the Brazilian had just gotten up off the mat. It was a completely legal and vicious shot, and also one that will earn her a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus. It should have been over right there, but referee Mark Smith decided to let the fight continue, and Buys finished it shortly thereafter. We really have no idea how good Buys is because she has never really fought anyone of note, but the 115-pound women's division needs all the help it can get, and Buys is certainly worth keeping an eye on.

Dealing with elbow injury
March 23, 2021
Buys is facing a six-month medical suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission pending medical clearance of a right elbow injury, reports.
Buys lost via unanimous decision to Montserrat Conejo on Saturday, and she ended up suffering an elbow injury during the bout. In turn, Buys will undergo an X-ray on her right elbow, so she'll be out at least a month. She'll need to gain orthopedic clearance in order to fight before mid-September.
Controlled by Montserrat Conejo
March 20, 2021
Buys lost to Montserrat Conejo via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-27) at UFC Vegas 22 on Saturday.
A brawl ensues as the fight begins with Ruiz trying to close the distance and get the clinch position. The two tangle on the ground where Ruiz gets the better of the grappling exchanges by controlling Buys in the front headlock position while inflicting more damage. The two strike in the early going of the second round. Ruiz got the headlock position again, where she inflicted damage. Round 3 starts with Buys besting Ruiz on the feet, but Ruiz once again gets the better of the grappling exchanges, which helped her win the round and the fight.
New opponent for debut
March 16, 2021
Buys will now be taking on a debuting Montserrat Ruiz at UFC Vegas 22 on Saturday, reports.
Buys is still set to debut on the same card as her husband JP, but it will no longer be against prospect Kay Hansen after Hansen withdrew due to unspecified reasons. Instead, she'll draw Ruiz, who is 9-1-0 as a fighter and 1-1 under the banner of Invicta FC. Buys has just six pro fights, and four of her five wins have gone to the judges. Nonetheless, she finds herself as a big betting favorite of -350 (or greater in some places) entering Saturday's bout.
