L'udovit Klein

Mr. Highlight

Falls as biggest favorite on card
October 16, 2021
Klein lost to Nate Landwehr via submission (anaconda choke) at 2:22 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
With Klein's defeat, the two biggest favorites on Saturday's card (Klein and Ramazan Emeev) have lost. Klein wasn't particularly effective in any of the three rounds, but the first was likely his best. He managed to stay fairly competitive on the feet in the opening frame before the roof caved in. The fact Klein was constantly beaten to the punch by a journeyman in Landwehr is highly concerning. What's even more concerning for Klein is the fact this performance came on the heels of a unanimous decision setback to Mike Trizano in May. The sample size is small, as Klein has all of three UFC bouts under his belt, but there are clear consistency issues to work through here. The 26-year-old "Mr. Highlight" finds himself in a must-win scenario his next time out.

Will fight in October
July 3, 2021
Klein has scheduled a fight against Nate Landwehr for October 16th, according to Marcel Dorff of MMA DNA.
The location of the fight is yet to be decided, but "Mr. Highlight" will return to the octagon with an eye towards returning to winning ways. His most recent fight ended in a loss by unanimous decision against Mike Trizano last May.
Eight-fight winning streak snapped
May 8, 2021
Klein lost to Mike Trizano via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 27-30) at UFC on ESPN 24 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
That will do it for Klein's eight-fight winning streak, although he looked slightly better than the scorecards would lead you to believe. Making just his second UFC appearance, Klein fought reasonably well for two rounds before Trizano put it on him in Round 3. Klein had been racking up a ton of knockouts of late, and it was interesting to see how he fared if those power punches weren't consistently landing. The answer: not particularly good. Klein was one of the biggest favorites on the card at -205. The 26-year-old Slovakian should be back in short order.
Next bout on books
April 8, 2021
Klein will square off against Mike Trizano on the May 8 card, MMA DNA reports.
Klein ended his UFC debut quickly with a win via KO/TKO (kick) to open his career on a high note against Shane Young in September. Next up is a fighter in Michael Trizano who last entered the Octagon back in May of 2019 in his first UFC loss at the hands of Grant Dawson. Klein owns a one-inch reach advantage over his opponent despite yielding four inches in the height department.
Taking on Ilia Topuria
February 19, 2021
Klein will face Ilia Topuria on May 8, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
Klein won his UFC debut against Shane Young back in September, knocking him out in just 76 seconds. His opponent, Topuria, is also coming off a knockout victory, beating Damon Jackson in the first round in December. That improved Topuria's UFC record to 2-0, meaning both fighters will be competing to stay undefeated with the promotion.
Strong effort after missing weight
September 26, 2020
Klein defeated Shane Young via TKO (strikes) at 1:16 of Round 1 at UFC 253 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
Klein is legitimate and would have been in prime position to receive a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus had he not missed weight by four pounds on Friday. Young -- aided by some financial incentive -- agreed to the bout regardless, and Klein quickly starched him with a gorgeous combination that included a variety of different strikes. Klein will have to get his weight cutting issues under control, but his talent level is not in question.
