Eight-fight winning streak snapped
May 8, 2021
Klein lost to Mike Trizano via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 27-30) at UFC on ESPN 24 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
That will do it for Klein's eight-fight winning streak, although he looked slightly better than the scorecards would lead you to believe. Making just his second UFC appearance, Klein fought reasonably well for two rounds before Trizano put it on him in Round 3. Klein had been racking up a ton of knockouts of late, and it was interesting to see how he fared if those power punches weren't consistently landing. The answer: not particularly good. Klein was one of the biggest favorites on the card at -205. The 26-year-old Slovakian should be back in short order.

Next bout on books
April 8, 2021
Klein will square off against Mike Trizano on the May 8 card, MMA DNA reports.
Klein ended his UFC debut quickly with a win via KO/TKO (kick) to open his career on a high note against Shane Young in September. Next up is a fighter in Michael Trizano who last entered the Octagon back in May of 2019 in his first UFC loss at the hands of Grant Dawson. Klein owns a one-inch reach advantage over his opponent despite yielding four inches in the height department.
Taking on Ilia Topuria
February 19, 2021
Klein will face Ilia Topuria on May 8, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
Klein won his UFC debut against Shane Young back in September, knocking him out in just 76 seconds. His opponent, Topuria, is also coming off a knockout victory, beating Damon Jackson in the first round in December. That improved Topuria's UFC record to 2-0, meaning both fighters will be competing to stay undefeated with the promotion.
Strong effort after missing weight
September 26, 2020
Klein defeated Shane Young via TKO (strikes) at 1:16 of Round 1 at UFC 253 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
Klein is legitimate and would have been in prime position to receive a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus had he not missed weight by four pounds on Friday. Young -- aided by some financial incentive -- agreed to the bout regardless, and Klein quickly starched him with a gorgeous combination that included a variety of different strikes. Klein will have to get his weight cutting issues under control, but his talent level is not in question.
Comes in overweight
September 25, 2020
Klein weighed in at four pounds over the 146-pound featherweight limit for Saturday's bout with Shane Young at UFC 253, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca reports.
Klein was announced as the replacement fighter last week after Nate Landwehr was forced to withdraw, so it's a bit more understandable that he missed weight given the short notice. Klein will likely be fighting for a reduced purse in his UFC debut, assuming the fight proceeds at a catchweight.
