Quickly taps out in Vegas
Gillmore lost to Ramiz Brahimaj via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:02 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Gillmore entered as a +320 underdog, second biggest on the entire card behind Bobby Green, and it's easy to see why following this result. Brahimaj pushed forward for an early takedown and Gillmore, who did his best to keep his opponent from gaining a dominant position, but eventually gave up his back. Gillmore quickly realized the gig was up and tapped out. A 34-year-old who bounced around between regional promotions before arriving on the scene in the UFC last August, Gillmore has now suffered back-to-back stoppage defeats to begin his run with the company. The odds are against him getting a third opportunity.

ANALYSIS
Gilmore never had a prayer. In fact, he displayed a ton of heart in lasting as long as he did. Going up an opponent with twice as much explosiveness and power, Gilmore found himself constantly on the defensive. Petroski allowed him no openings, limiting Gilmore to just 38 total strikes over the course of the bout. This was the expected result, as Gillmore, whose prior five fights had come in five different organizations, entered as a +400 underdog.
