Evans-Smith lost to Norma Dumont via unanimous decision (26-30, 26-30, 26-30) at UFC on ESPN 18 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Evans-Smith came out looking for big kicks early, but seemed to concede a significant speed advantage to her opponent, which was evident in the overall striking game. Normally Evans-Smith would go to her wrestling when things aren't working on the feet, but she was hesitant in this regard, and she appeared labored when the two were in the clinch and an opportunity was there. She did manage a takedown early in Round 2, but didn't maintain control for long and was soon on her back herself. She made it back to her feet but had to eat a few big shots to get there. Entering Round 3 and needing to go for broke, Evans-Smith continued walking into power shots. While she didn't get the finish she needed, at least she gets to fall back on the fact she was facing a heavy opponent. Plus, she (heroically) made it the full 15 minutes despite the telecast alluding to a possible injury.

Evans-Smith will proceed with her scheduled matchup against Norma Dumont on Saturday despite Dumont weighing in 3.5 pounds over the bantamweight limit.
ANALYSIS
It's not all bad, as Evans-Smith will receive 30 percent of Dumont's fight purse, and the matchup will proceed as scheduled. Evans-Smith enters this matchup as approximately a (-140) betting favorite as of fight day.

Evans-Smith will take on Norma Dumont in a bantamweight matchup at the UFC event scheduled for November 28, Raphael Marinho of Combate reports.
ANALYSIS
Evans-Smith was supposed to fight back in March, but it was eventually scrapped due to the pandemic. It will be her first fight since early 2019 when she lost to Andrea Lee, which was her third defeat in her last four trips to the Octagon. She'll take on an opponent in Dumont with just one UFC fight to her name -- a KO loss to Megan Anderson this past February. While Dumont will be moving down a weight class for this fight, Evans-Smith will still own a one-inch advantage in both height and reach.

Evans-Smith will no longer face Molly McCann on Saturday following the relocation of UFC London, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The UFC will be relocating the weekend's event, per an official statement, which leaves fighters like Evans-Smith unable to secure travel plans on short notice, especially given the recently-imposed restrictions to combat the spread of COVID-19. Evans-Smith had already made the trip to London despite the risks, per Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca, but now it's unclear if this matchup will be rescheduled for a later date.

Evans-Smith will face Molly McCann in London on March 21, Ariel Helwani of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
Evans-Smith will be fighting for the first time in over a year, as she withdrew from her previously schedule bout against Talia Santos in August due to an injury. She'll be looking to bounce back from a stretch in which she's lost three out of her last four matches, bringing her UFC record to 3-4. Her opponent, McCann, has won three matches in a row.
