Withdraws from Uruguay

Evans-Smith has withdrawn from her bout against Taila Santos and will be replaced by Adiane Carnelossi for UFC Fight Night in Uruguay on Aug, 10, Guilherme Cruz of reports.
An immediate reason for Evans-Smith's withdraw has yet to be given. She was looking for a bounceback after losing three of her past four fights.

Evans-Smith is slated to face off against Taila Santos at UFC Uruguay on Aug. 10, Nolan King of Flocombat reports.
Evans-Smith is looking for a bit of a bounceback. She's lost three of her past four fights, most recently being handed a unanimous decision loss to Andrea Lee at UFC on ESPN 1 in February. Santos is 15-1 as a professional, with her only loss being her UFC debut against Mara Romero Borella on Feb. 2 via split decision.
Gets max medical suspension

Evans-Smith has been suspended 180 days pending medical clearance by the Arizona State Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts Commission, reports.
While Evans-Smith was credited with two takedowns in the decision loss, she ended up absorbing 111 significant strikes, 47 of which landed on her head. The specifics of the injury were not disclosed, but Evans-Smith will now need to spend some time on the sidelines before booking another fight.
Struggles to implement gameplan

Evans-Smith lost to Andrea Lee via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC on ESPN 1 on Sunday in Phoenix.
Evans-Smith really needed to get this fight on the ground. She tried and tried, but she was never really able to break through and control the fight on the floor. Evans-Smith had her moments on the feet, but Lee was much more active. In the end, Lee landed more often and landed the harder strikes, which clearly swayed the judges. Evans-Smith has now lost three of her last four fights in the UFC.

Evans-Smith was originally scheduled to fight Lauren Murphy but Murphy had to withdraw with a lingering foot injury. Now 31 years old, Evans-Smith is 3-3 so far in UFC competitions and just 1-2 over her last three bouts.

Evans-Smith was looking to get in the octagon for the first time since having to withdraw from TUF 28 Finale in November. It's unsure if she will find a new opponent and remain on that card, or if she will be bumped back to a later date.
