Gets help in DQ debut win
Lima defeated Igor da Silva via DQ (biting) at 2:52 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It's a painful win for Lima in his UFC debut, but a win nonetheless. The two Brazilians were engaged in a highly-competitive bout, at which point da Silva decided it would be a good idea to sink his teeth into Lima's upper arm. Referee Chris Tognoni thought it was a significant enough infraction to warrant a look at the replay, and as soon as he did, da Silva was done. We should see Lima back in the Octagon in short order. The same can't be said of his opponent, most likely.

First UFC bout scheduled

ANALYSIS
Lima will match up against another fighter making his UFC debut in a showdown with Igor da Silva in March. The 25-year-old Brazilian fighter is 7-0 in his professional career and will look to stay undefeated in his start with the UFC.

Comprehensive win nets contract
Lima defeated Rickson Thai Zenidim via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 20-27), at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. After the show, he was one of five fighters to be awarded an official UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
In many ways, this wasn't your typical contract-winning performance. Lima didn't have many big moments and was unable to finish the fight, but the 24-year-old had continued success throughout, walking his opponent down, landing power shots, and mixing in some wrestling for good measure. Lima's explosiveness and creativity guarantee some fun matchups at flyweight, but he has yet to show what will separate him in a division where many of the competitors possess those attributes and more.
