Angel Pacheco

USA
Toughness on display in defeat
Pacheco lost to Santiago Luna via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Mexico City.
ANALYSIS
Pacheco made his UFC debut back in March 2024, getting swept on the scorecards against the since-released Caolan Loughran. He returned to action here after nearly two years away and put forth a near-identical performance. Pacheco is clearly one of the toughest guys around. He ate dozens and dozens of monster shots from Luna and didn't appear the least bit bothered by it. Of course, while all this was going on, he landed virtually no notable offense of his own. It won't happen, but Pacheco probably deserves some sort of bonus simply for seeing the final bell as a +525 underdog. The vast majority of UFC fighters get three opportunities before the company pulls the plug, but Pacheco may be an exception given his age (34) and how much he has struggled thus far.

Given chance for redemption
Pacheco is scheduled to fight Santiago Luna in a bantamweight fight at UFC Mexico on Feb. 28, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
The last time Pacheco fought in a UFC octagon was in March 2024, when Caolan Loughran dominated the former for three rounds in Atlantic City. Feb. 28 will see Pacheco's chance at redemption against a recent promotion debutant in Luna, who impressed by knocking out Quang Le.

Dominated in UFC debut
Pacheco lost to Caolan Loughran via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 26-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Atlantic City.
ANALYSIS
Pacheco is ridiculously tough, which is required when you manage to see the final bell despite giving up 148 total strikes and three takedowns. Angel landed 95 total strikes of his own, but there's zero doubt which man connected with the more damaging blows through the course of the bout, and it wasn't Pacheco. The 32-year-old Minnesota native got the call here despite actually losing on Dana White's Contender Series last September, so his margin for error with the company would appear to be nil.

UFC debut scheduled
Pacheco is scheduled to compete against Caolan Loughran in a bantamweight fight at UFC Atlantic City on March 30, per Nolan King of MMA Junkie.
ANALYSIS
Pacheco earned a UFC contract through Dana White's Contender Series. Standing at 5-foot-8, he will enter the fight at 32 years old with a 7-2 MMA record. Like him, Loughran also has the exact number of professional fights but with at least one bout of UFC experience.
