No-shows Vegas main event
Blaydes lost to Sergei Pavlovich via TKO (punches) at 3:08 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
That should just about do it in terms of Blaydes being any sort of legitimate contender at heavyweight. Facing an opponent with some of the most ridiculous power in the sport today, Curtis stood there and chose to go blow-for-blow with Pavlovich. It didn't end well. Blaydes' greatest attributes are his wrestling and cardio, but he went for a lone takedown attempt in the fight, and it was of the token variety. It was a truly baffling game plan and one from which Curtis may never be able to recover. Blaydes' 12-4 (1NC) record with the UFC is exceptional, but he's never been able to win the "big" fight, seemingly always putting forth a dreadful effort when he can least afford it. The Illinois native turned 32 years of age this past February.

Facing Pavlovich next
Blaydes will take on Sergei Pavlovich at the UFC event on April 22, Brett Okamoto of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Blaydes was last in the Octagon in July when he was able to defeat Tom Aspinall. That was his seventh win in his last eight bouts. It should be a great matchup against Pavlovich who is coming in off five straight KO wins.

Opponent injury leads to win
Blaydes defeated Tom Aspinall via TKO (injury stoppage) at 0:15 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in London.
ANALYSIS
Blaydes flew across the Atlantic in hopes of picking up a statement win over a talented opponent only to have a freak knee injury end Aspinall's evening after 15 seconds. Curtis handled the circumstances with expected class, saying that wasn't how he wanted it to go down and wishing Aspinall the best. It had the look of a serious, serious injury, so the likelihood of the UFC re-booking these two seems remote. The company will have to find another fight for Blaydes, who has now technically won three straight and seven of eight dating back to March 2019.

Matched against Tom Aspinall
Blaydes (foot) will take on Tom Aspinall in London on July 23, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The pair are expected to headline the card. Blaydes was handed a indefinite medical suspension after injuring his foot in his TKO victory over Chris Daukaus in late March, but he's evidently now considered good to go. He'll be looking for his third straight victory and his seventh win in his last eight trips to the Octagon, while Aspinall will be looking to improve his UFC record to 6-0.

Right foot needs clearance
Blaydes has received a medical suspension, MMAJunkie reports.
ANALYSIS
Blaydes will be suspended indefinitely until his right foot is cleared by a doctor. Blaydes was able to defeat Chris Daukaus by TKO last Saturday in Columbus. He should be in line for a big fight next time in the Octagon based on his performance.
