Falls to 0-5 (1NC) in six UFC bouts
FlyweightUFC
February 24, 2024
Lacerda lost to Edgar Chairez via submission (triangle choke) at 2:17 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Mexico City.
ANALYSIS
Lacerda got another chance with the UFC after his first bout with Chairez last September was ruled a no-contest following a poor referee stoppage. Both fighters responded by missing weight, but it was Lacerda who walked out with the loss. The Brazilian did manage to score an early takedown, but eventually left his neck exposed and tapped out to a triangle choke. Lacerda is now 0-5 (1NC) in six UFC bouts, with all five losses coming via stoppage. It would be the upset of the century if we see him again inside the Octagon.

February 23, 2024
Lacerda's fight with Edgar Chairez at UFC Mexico City will proceed as scheduled after he weighed in at 127, one pound over the flyweight limit, Danny Segura of MMAJunkie reports.
ANALYSIS
Lacerda is a piker next to his opponent, as Chairez missed weight by a stunning five pounds. Lacerda likely hasn't done himself any favors here, as he comes into this bout having lost his last four in the Octagon. While he is an exciting fighter, Lacerda will almost certainly need a win to stay with the organization. Both fighters will be fined due to their respective misses, but exact details are unavailable at this time.
