Withdraws from Wilson fight
FeatherweightUFC
December 13, 2023
Santos withdrew from his scheduled fight against Westin Wilson at UFC Vegas 84, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear why Santos was forced to pull out of the fight, but the 27-year-old will need to wait a bit longer for a chance at earning his first UFC win. Jean Silva will step in as Santos' replacement.

Another fight scheduled
FeatherweightUFC
October 11, 2023
Santos will compete against Westin Wilson in a featherweight fight at UFC Vegas 83 on Jan. 13, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Santos' next fight will be in 2024. Despite making his UFC debut in 2023, it was a disappointing year for him in terms of results. Santos fought twice, both resulting in losses to Lerone Murphy and David Onama. Ideally for Santos, he can bounce back in 2024.
Still seeking first UFC victory
FeatherweightUFC
June 24, 2023
Santos lost to David Onama via KO (punch) at 4:13 of Round 2 at UFC on ABC 5 on Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida.
ANALYSIS
Entering as a whopping -225 favorite, this is a crushing setback for Santos considering how strong he looked in the opening frame. He appeared to have Onama in trouble on multiple occasions, clamping on a pair of deep submissions in addition to landing a pair of takedowns. Both men were clearly tired towards the closing stage of Round 2, at which point Santos got cracked with an uppercut and follow-up shot which appeared to knock him out cold. Santos joined the UFC this past March with victories in his first ten professional bouts, but he's lost each of his first two bouts with the company and will likely be fighting for his job his next time out.
Onama bout scheduled
FeatherweightUFC
May 1, 2023
Santos will face off against David Onama at UFC Jacksonville on June 24, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Santos, who is fresh off a loss in his UFC debut in March, will look to bounce back against David Onama in June. The 26-year-old fighter took his first professional loss against Lerone Murphy, but he boasts a 10-1 record overall. Santos will look to emerge victorious over Onama and establish himself within the UFC.
Strong showing in debut defeat
FeatherweightUFC
March 18, 2023
Santos lost to Lerone Murphy via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC 286 on Saturday in London.
ANALYSIS
Accepting this fight on just days notice for his UFC debut, Santos looked excellent and probably deserved a better fate. He did a terrific job of employing both his grappling and striking skills. Santos landed takedowns in each of the three rounds, connecting on 5-of-11 attempts in total. He was also able to absorb anything Murphy sent back his way without issue. If there's one knock on Santos' performance it's that he slowed considerably as the fight progressed, but that is likely the result of accepting this bout without a full training camp. Just 26 years of age, the Brazilian is definitely worth keeping an eye on as 2023 progresses.
To debut against Lerone Murphy
FeatherweightUFC
March 13, 2023
Santos will make his UFC debut in a featherweight matchup against Lerone Murphy at UFC 286 on March 18, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Santos will carry a spotless, 10-0-0 record into his UFC debut and also enters as the reigning featherweight champion under the banner of LFA. While the Brazilian is the younger fighter at the age of 26, Murphy is undefeated as well, though he hasn't fought as frequently of late due to a stretch of cancellations. Both men stand at 5-9, with Murphy holding a slight reach advantage. While Santos has a solid long-term ceiling, it appears he'll enter as the betting underdog here.
