Witt lost to Josh Quinlan via KO (punch) at 2:09 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 41 on Saturday in San Diego.
ANALYSIS
Witt and Quinlan fought at a catch weight of 180 pounds following the postponement of their fight scheduled for a week ago. Witt ducked under and scored a nice takedown in the opening moments of the fight, but Quinlan quickly worked his way back to his feet and it was essentially over from there. Witt got caught with once massive left hook which knocked him out cold before he even hit the mat. Referee Frank Trigg was on top of it and Quinlan showed great sportsmanship by not firing off an additional follow-up shots. As for the 35-year-old Witt, he has now lost back-to-back fights and three of four with the UFC. His time with the company could be drawing to a close.
To face Quinlan on Saturday

Witt's scheduled matchup against Josh Quinlan at a catchweight of 180 pounds has been confirmed for UFC San Diego on Aug. 13, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
The two were originally scheduled to throw down at UFC Vegas 59 on Aug. 6, but the bout was canceled late in fight week without much reason provided at the time. It turns out that Quinlan had tested positive for pulsing of a banned metabolite, and state athletic commissions tend to handle these picogram-level positive tests a bit differently. Nevada needed more time to assess the situation, while California was willing to sanction the bout. Given that it's just a week later, the two will not have to undergo a full second weight cut and instead fight at a contracted weight of 180 pounds, nine pounds over the welterweight limit for a non-title fight. Witt sits as approximately a (+205) betting underdog as of Wednesday afternoon.

Witt will take on Josh Quinlan at the UFC event Aug. 6, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Witt will be in the Octagon for the first time since February when he fell to Philip Rowe by TKO. That brought his record with the UFC down to 2-3.

Witt lost to Philip Rowe via TKO (punches) at 2:15 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It's a crushing result for Witt in a fight in which he was in total control almost the entire way. Recognizing Rowe would have a massive advantage in the striking game, Witt leaned on his grappling for the duration of the bout. He landed 4-of-7 takedown attempts, good for 5:11 worth of control time, but Rowe worked his way back to his feet midway through Round 2 and crushed Witt with a combination which ended the latter's evening. Witt's wrestling skills are legitimate, but his glass chin has long been his downfall. Six of his eight career losses have come via knockout and his UFC record falls below the .500 mark (2-3) with this defeat.
