Opponent change for Saturday
Quinlan will now take on Trey Waters at UFC Vegas 72 on Saturday, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN.ca reports.
ANALYSIS
Quinlan was originally scheduled for a date with Ange Loosa and would have entered as approximately a (+125) betting underdog, but that matchup was scrapped following Loosa's withdrawal for undisclosed reasons. Stepping up in Loosa's place is Waters, a 28-year-old welterweight champion under the banner of LFA who sports a 7-1 record in professional MMA. On paper, Quinlan will be giving up five inches in both height and reach to Waters, though he still opens as approximately a (-180) betting favorite.

Next fight booked
Quinlan is set to take on Ange Loosa in a welterweight bout, at a UFC event on Apr. 29, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Quinlan, who took down Jason Witt during his UFC debut in August, will face off with Ange Loosa in April. The 30-year-old American fighter will look to build upon his impressive during his bout with Loosa.

Statement win in UFC debut
Quinlan defeated Jason Witt via KO (punch) at 2:09 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 41 on Saturday in San Diego.
ANALYSIS
Quinlan had to wait an extra seven days to get his hands on Witt after testing positive for a banned metabolite a week ago. The Nevada Athletic Commission wouldn't allow the fight to proceed, but California had so such issue allowing the two men to compete. The end result was a quick, massive one-punch knockout from Quinlan which turned Witt's lights out on the spot and was certainly worthy of a bonus, though the two POTN bonuses ultimately went elsewhere. We'll have to see how Quinlan looks against better competition, but this was a great start to his UFC run.

Confirmed for San Diego
Quinlan's scheduled matchup against Jason Witt at a catchweight of 180 pounds has been confirmed for UFC San Diego on Aug. 13, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
This was a matchup originally scheduled for Aug. 6 in Las Vegas, but it was pulled from the card late without much explanation given. It turns out that Quinlan had submitted a positive test for pulsing of a banned metabolite, which required additional review from the Nevada Athletic Commission. Since the amounts were so trace, California ultimately allowed the fight, where Quinlan is listed as an approximate (-250) betting favorite as of Wednesday afternoon. The situation is eerily similar to that of Jon Jones for his UFC 232 matchup against Alexander Gustafsson, when Nevada wouldn't host the bout due to similar trace amounts of a banned substance in Jones' system. The UFC ultimately moved the entire event to Anaheim, as California was willing to grant the license.

Fight rescheduled
Quinlan's fight against Jason Witt at UFC Vegas 59 on Aug. 6 has been rescheduled for next week at the UFC event in San Diego, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear as to why the fight is being rebooked for next week. Nonetheless, everything else remains the same, as Quinlan will battle Witt at the UFC event in San Diego next weekend.
