Draws Quinlan in June
Fugitt will take on Josh Quinlan in a welterweight matchup at the UFC event scheduled for June 15, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Fugitt fell via Mike Malott via submission his last time out, dropping his UFC record to 1-2. He'll hold height and reach advantages over Quinlan, who is also 1-2 under the UFC banner and coming off a stoppage loss to Danny Barlow in February. It's a small sample size, but Fugitt currently holds statistical edges in both striking and takedown volume.

Not competitive at UFC 289
Fugitt lost to Mike Malott via submission (guillotine choke) at 1:06 of Round 2 at UFC 289 on Saturday in Vancouver.
ANALYSIS
Fugitt earned his first UFC victory this past February with an upset win over Yusaku Kinoshita in Las Vegas, but he was tasked with a much more difficult opener here, going up against a rising star in Malott in enemy territory. It didn't go well. Fugitt was damaged by a body kick just moments after the opening bell rang and never seemed to recover. He was a step behind the entire way, ultimately being choked out early in Round 2 after being dropped with a one-two combo from Malott. Already 34 years of age and just 1-2 in his first three UFC bouts, Fugitt may need a victory his next time out in order to extend his time with the company.

Pulls upset for first UFC win
Fugitt defeated Yusaku Kinoshita via TKO (elbows) at 4:36 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Fugitt made his UFC debut last July, accepting a fight against top prospect Michael Morales on short notice. He lasted until the early part of Round 3 before being knocked out. Fugitt was much more effective in this fight with a full training camp under his belt, and did so as a +285 favorite. He exploited a massive hole in Kinoshita's game, landing four takedowns in the brief bout. The finish came when Fugitt ended up in mount and fired off countless elbows which forced referee Keith Peterson to step in. Fugitt just turned 34 years of age, so an extended prolonged winning streak seems unlikely, but this effort was a pleasant surprise.
