Fades in middleweight debut
WelterweightOther
October 18, 2025
Barlow lost to Djorden Santos via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Vancouver.
ANALYSIS
Moving up to middleweight after his first four UFC bouts took place at welterweight, Barlow was a -250 favorite here. He got the better of the action early on, although it was competitive. The tide really began to turn late in Round 2, however, at which point Santos seemed to find a second wind, and Danny began to fade. That carried over into the final frame, and Barlow was never able to recover from either an offensive or defensive standpoint. It remains to be seen if Barlow will compete at 170 or 185 pounds his next time out, but he needs to find a win regardless, having suffered back-to-back defeats.

Fighting Santos in Vancouver
WelterweightOther
July 21, 2025
Barlow will fight Djorden Santos at UFC Vancouver on Oct. 18, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Barlow lost his first UFC match back in March to Sam Petterson via KO, but he'll get his shot to bounce back as he travels to Vancouver in the fall. The American welterweight holds a 2-1 UFC record and 8-1 pro record, so he is a tough man to beat with a lot of aggressiveness each match he participates in. He'll take on a newer UFC fighter in Santos, who lost his debut in March but is 10-2 professionally.
Handed first pro loss

March 2, 2025
Barlow lost to Sam Petterson via KO (punches) at 3:10 of Round 1 at UFC Vegas 103 on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Barlow is always willing to put on a show for the fans, but his aggressiveness proved to be his downfall here, and it resulted in his first professional defeat. While Barlow threw with reckless abandon in a fast-paced Round 1, Patterson was content to sit back and wait for the counter. He eventually found his mark before a follow-up overhand right and some ground-and-pound ended the proceedings. Barlow has some runway after his first loss, but he'll need to defend himself better if he intends on an extended run.
Facing Patterson in March
WelterweightOther
December 23, 2024
Barlow will take on Sam Patterson in a welterweight matchup at UFC Vegas 103 on March 1, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Barlow will look to stay unbeaten in the UFC (2-0) and as a pro (8-0), though his last win wasn't quite as satisfying due to a slight weight miss. Assuming he has the scales under control, he should enter as a slight favorite against his latest opponent, who is 1-2. Barlow has the statistical advantages in terms of striking volume and accuracy, though he'll likely be forced to defend the takedown against Patterson. Fortuantely for Barlow, he has yet to be taken down in two trips to the Octagon (as well as a Contender Series appearance).
Picks up win after weight miss

August 10, 2024
Barlow defeated Nikolay Veretennikov via split decision (29-28, 27-30, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was an underwhelming performance from Barlow despite the fact he got the victory he came for. He missed weight by a quarter pound Friday morning and was forced to hand over a portion of his purse to Veretennikov in order for the bout to proceed. Inside the Octagon, Barlow got the better of the action for ten minutes, although not by much considering neither man did much of anything. He appeared dead tired in Round 3 and essentially stumbled to the finish line, allowing Veretennikov to land some massive blows in the final frame. The power is legitimate, but Barlow's cardio is questionable, as is the rest of his offensive game. Now 2-0 in the UFC, the Memphis native should get a stiffer test his next time out.
Barely misses weight

August 9, 2024
Barlow missed weight by .25 pounds ahead of his scheduled bout with Nikolay Veretennikov on Saturday, per MMAJunkie.com.
ANALYSIS
Checking in at 171.25 pounds, Barlow is over the weight limit by a razor thin margin. Even if he can't shed the extraneous weight by reweighs, this is a fight that should ultimately proceed as planned.
