Booked vs. Waters
Patterson will take on Trey Waters in a welterweight bout at UFC Paris on Sept. 6, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Patterson is coming off a nice win over Danny Barlow back in March, disposing of him in the first round. That pushed his UFC record to 3-1, and he'll look for his fourth win in the promotion against a fighter in Waters who is off to a perfect 2-0 start, most recently taking care of Billy Ray Goff via unanimous decision in May of 2024.

Gets first-round finish in Vegas
Patterson defeated Danny Barlow via KO (punches) at 3:10 of Round 1 at UFC Vegas 103 on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Kicking off the main card, Patterson was able to put on a show for the fans and extend his winning streak to three. He didn't get by unscathed after a back-and-forth striking battle occupied the opening minutes, but Patterson was the more patient fighter, looking for counters while Barlow winged big shots. He eventually found the chin with a right hand that staggered Barlow, and another follow-up overhand right sent him to the canvas before he finished the job. Although Patterson lost his official company debut in March of 2023, he's responded with three consecutive first-round finishes and merits a higher-caliber opponent his next time out.

Looks to extend winning streak
Patterson will take on Danny Barlow in a welterweight matchup at UFC Vegas 103 on March 1, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Patterson lost his UFC debut in March of 2023 but has since picked up back-to-back wins via first-round submission. He now takes on an undefeated opponent in Barlow, who has striking numbers which are dominant by comparison. Patterson will likely look to get this one to the mat, though Barlow has yet to be taken down in two official UFC appearances (and one Contender Series bout).

Second straight submission win
Patterson defeated Kiefer Crosbie via submission (arm-triangle choke) at 2:50 of Round 1 at UFC 304 on Saturday in Manchester, England.
ANALYSIS
Patterson picked up his first UFC win this past January with a submission of Yohan Lainesse, and he had an equally easy time here with Crosbie. Sam easily dragged his opponent to the mat and worked for the arm-triangle choke that closed the show. Patterson is intriguing if for no other reason than at 6-foot-4, he's about the biggest welterweight you will ever see. His submission skills are legitimate, and that, combined with the size, gives him some legitimate future potential.

Homecoming scheduled
Patterson is scheduled to compete against welterweight Kiefer Crosbie at UFC 304 in Manchester on July 27, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.

Patterson will fight in his home country for his next fight. He began his 2024 promisingly by submitting Yohan Lainesse via a first-round rear-naked choke at UFC 297 in Toronto.

Secures first UFC victory
Patterson defeated Yohan Lainesse via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:03 of Round 1 at UFC 297 on Saturday in Toronto.
ANALYSIS
It was a big rebound effort from Patterson on the heels of his 75-second knockout defeat to Yanal Ashmouz in his UFC debut last March. Facing an opponent in Lainesse with some power and little else, Sam secure a shockingly easy takedown before quickly taking Lainesse's back and choking him out. Patterson is still just 27 years of age, but he has no history of defeating even average competition in his professional career. He needs to continue his winning ways if he hopes to make an ongoing impact at 170 pounds.
