Can't defend takedown in loss
MiddleweightUFC
July 13, 2024
Fremd lost to Andre Petroski via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Denver.
ANALYSIS
Fremd likely would have had a great chance of winning this fight if he was able to remain upright, but that proved to be too difficult a task. He allowed Petroski to land 3-of-4 takedowns, good for 12:50 worth of control time. It's nearly impossible to win a 15-minute decision when you spend that much time being dominated on the mat. Fremd had a brief flurry on the feet at the start of Round 3, but that was it. Josh has now lost back-to-back bouts following a brief two-fight losing streak. He's just 2-4 in a half-dozen UFC appearances.

Finished by Roman Kopylov
MiddleweightUFC
September 16, 2023
Fremd lost to Roman Kopylov via TKO (strikes) at 4:44 of Round 2 at Noche UFC on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Fremd, a +260 underdog, was fine for about three minutes. After that, the roof came crashing down. Josh had no chance if this turned into a kickboxing match, and that ended up being exactly the case. He failed on all five of his takedown attempts, leaving an opening for Kopylov, who hits like a truck, to land repeated power shots. One massive punch to the liver late in Round 2 shut Fremd's insides down and ended the bout in an instant. The 29-year-old Pennsylvania native drops to 2-3 in his first five UFC bouts. It's also worth mentioning he missed weight for one of those victories.
