In a fight that seemingly had little business as a co-main event, at least a finish was delivered in a matchup between two men with little regard for defense. Unfortunately for Marquez, it was his fourth consecutive defeat via KO/TKO within the first two rounds, and likely means his time with the company is up. He at least went out on his shield, and even had Brundage hurt with a monster right hand that ejected his mouthpiece. He even threatened with a guillotine for a moment, but Brundage escaped and immediately returned fire. A right hand knocked Marquez down, and while he tried to wrestle back, he was in a highly disadvantageous position that allowed Brundage to rack up ground-and-pound and finish the proceedings. Marquez's run with the UFC was nothing, if not exciting.
