Facing Mokaev in July
FlyweightUFC
May 9, 2024
Kape will fight Muhammad Mokaev in a flyweight bout at UFC 304 in Manchester, England on July 27, per Jed Meshew of MMAFighting.com.
ANALYSIS
Kape will head into Manchester riding a four-fight win streak in UFC. "Starboy" will be put to the test, taking on the unbeaten Mokaev with both a size and reach disadvantage. The five-foot-five Angolan should not be counted out, however, as his 11 professional wins by KO/TKO show his considerable stopping power.

Won't fight Nicolau
FlyweightUFC
April 2, 2024
Kape won't fight Matheus Nicolau on April 27 in the main event of UFC Vegas 91 and will be replaced by Alex Perez.
ANALYSIS
The reasons for Kape's withdrawal are unclear, but this means his return to the octagon is being delayed -- again. Now, there's no sign as to when Kape will be fighting again. He owns a 19-6 record as a pro and 4-2 at the UFC level. For what is worth, Kape has had many fight cancellations in the last couple of years, leaving him to fight only once in 2022 and once more in 2023.
Will still fight Nicolau
FlyweightUFC
March 7, 2024
Kape is set to face Matheus Nicolau on April 27 in the main event of UFC Vegas 91, Alex Behunin of MMA Mania reports.
ANALYSIS
Kape was expected to fight Nicolau on Jan. 13, but the bout was called off after Nicolau missed weight one day before the event. Both fighters are now slated to meet again in April, and providing no one misses weight this time, Kape will aim to extend his winning streak to five fights.
Misses weight, fight canceled
FlyweightUFC
January 12, 2024
Kape's scheduled fight versus Matheus Nicolau was canceled after Kape missed weight Friday, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Kape weighed in at 129.5 pounds Friday -- 3.5 pounds over the flyweight limit. It's a tough break for Kape, who was sitting as a -275 favorite to take down Nicolau. Kape will now have to wait a bit longer for another chance to extend his winning streak to five.
Facing Nicolau again
FlyweightUFC
November 8, 2023
Kape will take on Matheus Nicolau at the UFC event on Jan. 13, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Kape was last in the Octagon in September when he defeated Felipe dos Santos by unanimous decision. This will be the second matchup against Nicolau after Kape fell in the first one by split decision in March of 2021.
Gets past newcomer in Sydney
FlyweightUFC
September 9, 2023
Kape defeated Felipe dos Santos via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC 293 on Saturday in Sydney, Australia.
ANALYSIS
Originally scheduled to face Kai Kara-France here, Kape handled his late-notice debuting opponent as a -425 favorite, but boy, did he have to work for it. Dos Santos refused to give an inch the entire 15 minutes despite being outclassed in what was largely a kickboxing match. Manel was responsible for the biggest moment of the fight with a Round 1 knockdown, but dos Santos kept coming. The end result was both men walking away with $50,000 Fight of the Night bonuses. Kape spent his post-fight interview with Daniel Cormier cutting a heel promo on Kara-France, who was in the crowd. It would be shocking if the UFC doesn't re-book those two in the near future.
