KO win in UFC debut
Torres defeated Frank Camacho via TKO (punches) at 3:27 of Round 1 at UFC on ESPN 36 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
A product of Dana White's Contender Series, Torres was making his official UFC debut after being awarded a contract following a knockout win over Kolton Englund last October. Facing an opponent here in Camacho who hadn't fought in nearly two years, Torres did an excellent job of being aggressive, but calculated at the same time. Camacho is known for his power, but Torres had him so off balance that he attempted five takedowns in the brief bout. He failed on all five. It ended up being Torres who earned the knockout win with a nice combination in the latter stages of the opening frame. Just 25 years of age, keep an eye on Torres moving forward. In the meantime, he'll take home a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his efforts here.

Debut against Frank Camacho set
Torres will make his official UFC debut against Frank Camacho in a lightweight matchup at the UFC event scheduled for May 14, CC Legaspi of ESPN Deportes reports.
ANALYSIS
Torres bounced around regional circuits before getting his chance on the Contender Series last October, where he earned a bit of a controversial first-round stoppage that eventually led to a contract. A training partner of former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno, the 27-year-old Torres will look to prove that effort was no fluke, and the UFC will square him off against a veteran brawler in Camacho. The 32-year-old Camacho cares little about defense, as made evident by his 2-5 UFC record and astounding 7.31 significant strikes absorbed per minute. Torres will still have to be careful for the counter, as 17 of Camacho's 22 professional victories have came by way of KO/TKO.
