Wins debut on four days' notice
Orolbai defeated Uros Medic via submission (neck crank) at 4:12 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Easy work for Orolbai despite accepting this fight -- his UFC debut -- exactly four days ago. With UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber and Slava Borshchev (who fought just last week) representing Team Alpha Male in his corner, the 25-year-old Orolbai quickly recognized a hole in Medic's takedown defense and exploited it. He ended up connecting on 7-of-10 attempts, good for 7:26 worth of control time. The neck crank that closed the show late in Round 2 appeared to be more the result of Medic being dead tired as opposed to under duress. Props to Orolbai for a strong showing in his maiden voyage with the company.
