The Giants have been the best team in the Central League through the first three weeks of the season and arrive into this contest riding a three-game winning streak, as they already won the first two games of this three-set matchup against the Chunichi Dragons. Their rivals saw their own winning streak come to an end in these two defeats against the Giants and currently sit in fifth place of the standings with a 6-8 record. The Giants also seem to have the edge in the pitching matchup ahead of this game, as Angel Sanchez will get the nod against Kodai Umetsu. Umetsu delivered a good start in his debut, but the wheels fell off in his second outing. Sanchez, on the other hand, has posted a 0.77 ERA through his first two outings of the 2020 campaign and seems poised to dominate once again.

Kazuma Okamoto, Giants: Okamoto has been one of the league's best hitters in the 2020 NPB season and the numbers back him up. Through 54 at-bats, Okamoto has five home runs and 12 RBI, pacing the team in both categories. He supplements that with a .426 average and a .483 on-base percentage, making him the complete threat every time he steps to the plate.

Gerardo Parra, Giants: Parra shouldn't be far behind Okamoto when it comes to being a dangerous threat in the Giants lineup. The veteran outfielder, who has plenty of MLB experience, has been very consistent and enters this matchup with three home runs, 10 RBI and a .341/.408/.591 slash line through his first 13 games.

Shuhei Takahashi, Dragons: Takahashi has been the best hitters in the Dragons roster during the current season, although it's fair to say Chunichi have struggled to produce runs so far. He enters this matchup with a .340 average, although Dayan Viciedo (.268, three home runs) could also be a decent choice.

Angel Sanchez, Giants: Sanchez has been one of the most dominant pitchers in the first few weeks of the 2020 NBP season, as he has posted a strong 0.77 ERA in 11.2 innings through two starts. His eight walks are concerning, but he should be able to take advantage of a weak lineup such as the Dragons' one.
