2025 Fantasy Outlook
After three seasons of full-time racing in NASCAR's top division, Burton returns to the Xfinity Series in 2025. The young driver parted ways with Wood Brothers Racing at the end of last season and will look to continue his racing career in the lower division. Burton spent three seasons racing in this division in his development prior to joining the Cup Series. In those 75 starts Burton earned four victories and 49 Top-10 finishes with Joe Gibbs Racing. He returns to the Xfinity Series for a much smaller team, AM Racing. Burton's experience and skill will count for something, but he'll confront the full schedule with a less-equipped team than what he's typically used to. The No. 15 Ford team raced to just two Top-10 finishes last season, but they'll have more upside with Burton under the wheel. Read Past Outlooks

Burton finished third in the North Carolina Education Lottery 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Rockingham Speedway on Saturday afternoon.
ANALYSIS
Burton would be the big mover on the day at the Rock. He would start 29th on the grid and patiently work his way forward in this 250-lap battle. It would take until stage three for him to break inside the Top 10 and move further into the Top 5. Burton would earn his best finish of the season with AM Racing as he would hold off Brennan Poole in overtime to collect the strong third-place finish.

Burton performed well enough in 2023 to earn another season in the Wood Brothers Racing Ford. While the campaign fell short of this team's recent past standards, it was good enough to get another season for Burton. He grabbed two Top-10 finishes and ranked 31st in the driver standings at season's end. The 24.7 average finish was up a couple spots over his 22.8 average finish in 2022. That's regression Burton would like to reverse in the upcoming season. His best tracks to this point have been the bigger ovals, and his short track racing has not been bad. The big weakness has been intermediate oval racing and road circuits. Unfortunately, those two style tracks make up a bulk of the Cup Series schedule and will need to be solved if Burton is to make any progress in 2024.
