Raphael Lessard
GMS Racing
2020 Fantasy Outlook
The Canadian is transitioning from part-time to full-time racing in the truck series this season. Lessard takes over the No. 4 Toyota Tundra that Todd Gilliland piloted last season. The 18-year-old prospect made five starts last season between a couple different teams, but mainly for Kyle Busch Motorsports. Lessard earned a pair of Top 10's in those five events and registered a pedestrian 11.2 average finish. He also impressed with three Top-10 finishes in three starts in the ARCA Series last year. Lessard is a young, raw talent, and he lacks a lot of seat time that other young drivers bring to this division of NASCAR. He'll have top flight equipment and support, and that's half the battle to a successful rookie campaign. Read Past Outlooks
Signs with GMS Racing
Gander Outdoors Truck
November 25, 2020
Raphael Lessard Racing announced that the young Quebec driver will race in select races in the 2021 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. He will drive a Silverado prepared by the dominant GMS Racing organization, GMS Racing PR reports.
The young driver just completed his rookie season in 2020 with Kyle Busch Motorsports. It was an uneven campaign that saw Lessard collect his first-career victory, but finish a distant 12th-place in the final driver standings. He will join GMS Racing for 2021 in 12 events to start. In the meantime, Lessard will seek additional sponsorship so that he may run the full 22-event schedule.
