Fresh from the team's first one-two in over a decade at the Italian Grand Prix last time out, McLaren's Norris has claimed pole position for the 2021 Russian Grand Prix, Formula1.com
The drivers would face damp conditions at the Russian circuit after heavy rain Saturday morning. Norris took on the challenging conditions and edged Carlos Sainz to capture the pole position. His lap was 0.517-seconds better than the Ferrari star. It was Norris' first-career pole, and he'll be a podium threat in Sunday's Russian GP at Sochi Autodrom.
