Carson Hocevar

Niece Motorsports
2022 Fantasy Outlook
The 19-year-old prospect had quite a rookie campaign last season. Hocevar turned heads and nearly won at Charlotte last year. He would collect three Top-5 and eight Top-10 finishes in his first full season of truck series racing. Hocevar returns to the No. 42 Chevrolet of Niece Motorsports in 2022. He'll continue to work with crew chief, Phil Gould, and build on what they started last season. This driver and team have the potential to win races as Hocevar gets more experience. They could climb the rankings if improvement comes faster than anticipated. The No. 42 Chevrolet team is one to keep a close eye on early in the schedule. Read Past Outlooks
Runner-up Finish at Darlington
Gander Outdoors Truck
May 6, 2022
Hocevar finished second in the Dead On Tools 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Darlington Raceway Friday evening.
ANALYSIS
Hocevar started up front and raced among the leaders all evening in South Carolina. He'd lead 9 total laps and take the victory in stage 2. Hocevar would carry that good track position into stage 3 and contend for the win. He would attempt to run down John Hunter Nemechek for the victory in the closing laps but would fall 0.552-seconds short. The runner-up finish was second Top 5 of the season.

John Hunter Nemechek finally got his 2022 win last week at Darlington, and now that the seal has been broken, more wins should follow.
2021 Fantasy Outlook
The young driver turns 18-years-old just before the 2021 season starts, and the timing is perfect. Hocevar will get his first full season of action in the Camping World Truck Series. He's made nine-combined starts over the last two seasons with seven of those coming last year alone with Niece Motorsports. Hocevar grabbed four Top-15 finishes in those efforts and was a pleasant surprise despite his lack of experience. He'll now get a full slate of 23 races to show what he can do, and compete for Rookie of the Year honors this season. Hocevar faces an uphill battle in terms of the ROTY, but his driving talent would appear to give him at least a slugger's chance at the award.
