Taylor Gray

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Gray would make some nice progression in 2023. It would be his first full Craftsman Truck Series slate of action and he wouldn't disappoint. The youngster would grab three Top-5 and six Top-10 finishes on his way to a very solid 14.6 average finish. It all added up to a respectable 15th-place finish in the final driver standings. Gray's best tracks were intermediate ovals and short tracks for the most part, although he did have a couple nice drives on road circuits. Gray's potential is just being tapped as he's a tender 18-years-old to start the 2024 season. He'll be paired with veteran crew chief, Jeff Hensley, this season and the two will look to continue his development and improvement. Read Past Outlooks
Runner-up Finish at Kansas
Craftsman Truck Series
September 8, 2023
Gray finished second in the Kansas Lottery 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway Friday night.
Gray would earn a career-best finish Friday night at Kansas Speedway. He would come from 16th on the starting grid to patiently race his way forward. The young driver would penetrate the Top 10 by the end of stage 2 and race there the rest of the way. The late caution would actually put Gray into contention for the win. However, he would fall just short in the mad scramble over the last couple laps. It was his second Top-5 finish of the season.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Gray's two seasons of part-time racing in this division of NASCAR are now complete and now the soon-to-be 18-year-old driver is ready to take on a full slate of races for the first time. Gray's 13 starts over the last two seasons have netted a pair of Top-10 finishes with short tracks appearing to be his biggest strength. TRICON Garage, formerly David Gilliland Racing, will pair Gray with ace crew chief, Chad Johnston, and look to make a big splash in Gray's rookie season. The young driver has a lot of potential, so most of the burden will be on this race team to provide Gray with a fast truck week-in and week-out.
