PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS

FORWARD

Cristiano Ronaldo, RM at APO ($11,600): Ronaldo has just one goal in his last five games, with his last one coming three games ago in Champions League play. While he's struggling to find the net in La Liga, he's scored at least one goal in all four UCL games this season, including a brace against APOEL in their Group H opener. It's clear that Ronaldo basks in the awards and accolades, and he will jump at the opportunity to pad his all-time Champions League goal record.

Kevin De Bruyne, MCI v. FEY ($9,800): While teammate Sergio Aguero ($10,400) is up there with Ronaldo at the top of the anytime goal scorer odds chart, it's hard to ignore the run of form De Bruyne has been on. He has a goal or an assist in six of his last seven appearances, and with an attractive matchup at home against last-place Feyenoord, look for De Bruyne to make an impact on the scoresheet again.

Emil Forsberg, RBL at MCO ($6,800): Forsberg has hit double-digit fantasy points in all four Group G appearances and is averaging over 15 per game this UCL campaign. With Leipzig just two points back of Porto in second place, expect a big effort at Monaco to position themselves with a shot of advancing to the Round of 16 heading into the final group match. His involvement on set pieces adds to Forsberg's fantasy appeal, and his mid-range price combined with multi-position eligibility certainly helps with roster construction.

MIDFIELDER

Dries Mertens, NAP v. SHK ($9,300): Mertens hasn't scored in three straight but he still leads Napoli in both goals (11) and assists (five) this season. Napoli are in a must-win spot at home against Shaktar to keep their slim chance of advancing out of Group F alive, so we can expect Mertens and company to come out firing from the opening whistle.

Andriy Yarmolenko, DOR v. TOT ($8,000): Yarmolenko has hit double-digits in three UCL starts, including a 19-point effort at Tottenham earlier in the season. He has a share of Dortmund's set pieces, and with the German club desperate for a result, it would be no surprise to see him deliver another good performance at home.

Ever Banega, SEV v. LIV ($6,100): Banega went off for 31 fantasy points in his last UCL appearance, and he's scored at least 10 points in four straight starts. Sevilla are just one point back of Liverpool at the top of Group E, and in what should be a tightly-contested match, Banega provides a bit of safety at a reasonable salary.

DEFENDER

Marcelo, RM at APO ($6,200): The lack of top-tier options at the defender position clears the way for Marcelo as arguably the best back on the slate. He's put in at least seven crosses in three straight, which should come as no surprise given his knack for asserting himself in the attack down the left side of the field. The matchup against APOEL is worth paying up for in hopes of a repeat performance from earlier in the season when Marcelo put in 15 crosses en route to 20 fantasy points.

Raphael Guerreiro, DOR v. TOT ($5,100): The versatile defender has a penchant for joining the attack, and Guerreiro bagged a goal in his first sniff of UCL action three weeks ago. He came off the bench over the weekend but could move back into the starting lineup against Tottenham in a must-win game to keep Dortmund's slim chances of advancing alive.

Kieran Trippier, TOT at DOR ($4,300): Trippier reeled off six straight double-digit fantasy scores before Saturday's two-point dud against Arsenal. With Spurs in pole position to win Group H, look for them to keep their foot on the pedal, putting Trippier in consideration as a salary saver with big upside. If Tripper doesn't start, Ben Davies is a worthy pivot for $200 more.

GOALKEEPER

Ederson, MCI v. FEY ($6,000): Manchester City are the biggest home favorite on the board and should have no problem dispatching of a Feyenoord squad they beat 4-0 in their UCL opener. Feyenoord have just three goals through four Group F games, while Ederson has allowed only three goals in four games. All signs point to another strong outing from the Brazilian netminder, with Manchester City looking to seal first place in the group.

Nauzet Perez, APO v. RM ($3,700): Perez came up with a big game to earn APOEL a point against Dortmund, making six saves and registering nine points. Taking into consideration that he'll be faced with multiple shots against Real Madrid, Perez will have an opportunity to turn those shots into fantasy points if he can keep Ronaldo and Co. at bay. While going this route comes with the risk of getting a negative score, at $3,700 it doesn't take much to make value and, of course, frees up valuable salary to spread across other positions.
