2025 Fantasy Outlook
Wissa has improved each year with Brentford, but 2024/25 was the biggest step yet, as he tallied 18 goals and four assists. He didn't lead the team in either category, but he established himself as a top attacking option in the Premier League. Unfortunately, there's some concern for Wissa heading into 2025/26 with a bit of upheaval in the squad from manager to key starters. Repeating last season's output seems unlikely, but as a focal point in the attack with seemingly guaranteed minutes, maybe things won't change that much for him.
Building fitness on grass
FNewcastle United
OUT
November 7, 2025
Wissa (knee) is building his fitness on grass and progressing well, coach Eddie Howe said in the press conference. "He's working well. He's on the grass and he's building his fitness. The knee is feeling good and there's no problems with that. It's more a case of looking at his fitness, sharpness, all the things he's going to need to put together. He's in a good place to kick on and push his body. We need to give him time to get robust enough and be in a position to give his best for the team. I'm sure he'll be worth the wait."
ANALYSIS
Wissa has shown good improvement after being spotted on grass working on his fitness. The newcomer still needs some time to be robust enough to make the match squad, but his return to competition isn't far. Until he is fully fit, Nick Woltemade will remain the main starter leading the line for the Magpies.

Nearing return, likely after break
FNewcastle United
OUT
October 24, 2025
Wissa (knee) is nearing a return and could feature Nov. 2 against West Ham, but appears to be out until at least the international break, according to manager Eddie Howe, per Lee Ryder of the Chronicle. "Pre-season schedules that we give to players will be six weeks. And we do that for a reason, so we can build them up and they can play in various games, and then they're ready to perform. So I'm not saying he won't play for six weeks. But I think to get to his very best level, it will probably take that time. But firstly, before we get to that stage, we need to get him fully 100% fit, and then we can really push him. He's on that road. He's been to see a specialist yesterday. That was a routine appointment."

Newcastle to launch new bid?
FBrentford
OUT
August 19, 2025
Newcastle are expected to launch a new bid to sign Wissa, according to The Sun.
ANALYSIS
The Magpies are ready to do everything in their power to secure the services of the DR Congo international, who's also keen on completing a move to St. James' Park. However, Brentford aren't going to give the green light on the move until they can sign a replacement. They already acquire Dango Ouattara, however, so perhaps a move can happen in the coming days.
