Sandro Tonali
25-Year-Old
Newcastle United
Premier
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Tonali completed his first full year with Newcastle after he was suspended for most of his debut season, starting 28 of 36 appearances. He plays deepest of Newcastle's midfielders, which led to only four goals and two assists, but his upside was seen later in the season when he took set pieces. While that's not a certainty in the new season, there's a chance Tonali may have won the job and if that's the case, set pieces from a defensive midfielder gives you a little bit of everything in fantasy, something that could be useful later in drafts.

Two shots on goal
Tonali had three shots (two on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Saturday's 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton.
ANALYSIS
Despite not being on the score sheet, Tonali was able to get two shots on target and getting three key passes against the Wolves. It continues to be a slow start for the midfielder as he is still looking for his first goal contribution, however has been getting involved in the attack with five key passes in the first four games played.

Injured Monday
Tonali came off after suffering an apparent shoulder injury during Monday's 3-2 defeat against Liverpool, coach Eddie Howe confirmed in a press conference, according to The Athletic. "Sandro again, didn't look good, he couldn't really move his arm and he wanted to stay on but couldn't really. It looks like a shoulder injury but I'm not 100% sure what the actual problem is. Of course, he's such an important player and we can't afford to lose him, or anyone else."

ANALYSIS
Tonali has been linked with a return to Italy for quite some time, and that might become a reality in the summer of 2025. Even though Juventus have decent depth in midfield, they might be ready to break the bank in order to bring the Italy international back to the Serie A.
