Aymeric Laporte
32-Year-Old
Athletic
La Liga
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Laporte remained a regular in central defense for Athletic in 2025/26, making 25 appearances with modest numbers, earning one assist and only four clean sheets as the team's defense had a leakier season. His fantasy value is the standard center-back case, built on clean sheets and defensive volume, but the low shutout count last season limits the appeal until Athletic tighten up. He brings experience and passing quality from the back, plus the occasional set-piece threat. As a regular starter, he has a reasonable floor, but the defensive numbers need to improve for him to be a strong pick. He is a cheap, experienced option, valued for clean-sheet potential if new manager Edin Terzic can restore Athletic's defensive solidity.
Helps secure clean sheet
Laporte had four tackles (three won), three clearances and two interceptions in Saturday's 0-0 draw versus Deportivo Alaves.
ANALYSIS
Laporte contributed to another solid defensive performance as Athletic prevented Alaves from creating much attacking danger throughout the contest. The center-back played the full 90 minutes and remained active defensively with four tackles, three clearances and two interceptions. Laporte has established himself as an undisputed starter in central defense, totaling eight tackles, four interceptions and 20 clearances across seven LaLiga appearances this season.
