Hernan Lopez

Lopez was streaky to say the least in 2024, but he established himself as the top choice in the center of the attack. He finished his first year with San Jose with six goals and two assists in just over 1,800 minutes. It was a dreadful year from the Earthquakes, and Lopez was one of the few attacking pieces that was brought back for 2025. Alongside Cristian Espinoza and Amahl Pellegrino, the real question for the attack is the vacancies throughout the team. With stronger midfielders or a more clinical striker, Lopez could break out during his second season in MLS. Still, those uncertainties mean Lopez is a hard option to trust, at least to kick off the 2025 campaign.
