Romero remained a regular part of Sevilla's attack in 2025/26, but the output was modest with four goals and no assists across 29 games, and he started only 18 as the team endured a difficult campaign that cost two managers their jobs. He took 41 shots, so the willingness is there, but the finishing and service were both lacking at a struggling club. Manager Luis Garcia Plaza, appointed late last season, will look to steady things, and Romero should feature regularly though not as a guaranteed starter.
