Rodriguez's first year with Portland went about as well as could be expected, scoring 16 times and adding five assists from 30 appearances. The left winger did well in a Portland attack that was red-hot for most of the season, scoring 65 goals, tied for fourth best in the league. That said, Rodriguez's value in 2025 could be largely determined by the future of Evander, as he was the creative engine often setting Rodriguez up. If Evander stays, Rodriguez should have sky-high upside for the 2025 season.
Departs Timbers
Rodriguez saw a buyout of his contract exercised and therefore departs Timbers, the club announced. "We are incredibly grateful for Jonathan's contributions during his time with the Portland Timbers. Even during this challenging and uncertain time while dealing with an injury, he has remained a great teammate and professional," Timbers General Manager Ned Grabavoy said.
